Problem #1: Waiting for their dad to arrive at the airport, they were - of course - bored. My oldest son noticed that the concrete was scored on a grid - with sections about 8' square and suggested a game of Giant Tic-Tac-Toe. Each of the boys collected a different marker (easy enough; the waiting area is outside) and commenced play on a giant sized grid.
Problem #2: A fruit tree - heavy with fruit - was taunting them with ripe morsels high in the branches and out of their reach. Fifteen minutes later, they were successfully nabbing fruit with a homemade fruit picker made of a dowel, a water bottle and a chip-clip.
Clever, huh?

Ingenuity!
